Exhausted. Mental toughness is what brought me home. Up the last hill before the ride home, I felt sick to my stomach. Thought "this must be bonking" but I made it the last 15 miles so I must not have bonked.

"bonking" is the equivalent of what runners call "hitting the wall." It's basically the point at which you have depleted your muscle glycogen stores and you simply have nothing left to give.
